Yan Chan, a partner in Haydon U.S., earned an MBA from Seattle University and her undergraduate degree from Nanchang University in China. She is a seasoned finance professional who has won achievement awards in Fortune 500 companies. In over 18 years at Weyerhaeuser, business successor International Paper, Starbucks, and private companies, she has mastered a broad range of financial tools and analytical systems. In the Controller role, she has developed budgets and cash forecasts. And planned and supervised the management of multiple cash accounts. Yan has developed a deep talent in cost analysis and cost accounting. She has worked with accounting firms to complete financial audits, including audit processes that were delayed by financial difficulties. Yan also has experience in developing information presentations for fund raising “road shows.” She has organized and directed preparation and delivery of board and board committee information packages.
Yan recently completed an assignment as Controller, working alongside Partner, Dennie Haydon, CFO, in a transitioning private company. In this assignment, Yan was instrumental in bringing on and training a new staff to help reorganize the Finance Dept.
Yan is an avid reader and student of history and philosophy. She is also an active swimmer, skier, biker and hiker. She and her family are enthusiastic international travelers.
